Engagement party got too hot

I’ve never been one who focuses much on weddings or the prospect of marriage at all.

I think people blow the event out of proportion and lose sight of what’s important, as well as the legal arrangement that they’re agreeing to for the rest of their lives.

It seems like people are more wrapped up in the pretty dress and the big, expensive party, than they care about the legal ramifications that come with the whole event. That’s why it’s hard for me to be too excited when my friends are getting married, but I still wish them all the best during their exciting life event. That’s why I felt so terrible for my best friend when her engagement party was ruined by an unreliable HVAC system. It was the middle of summer and we met at a beautiful country club for drinks and dinner. Everything looked beautiful, but within a few moments it was obvious that there was not enough air conditioning being pumped into the events space. We asked the manager to readjust the thermostat, but the look on her face said it all; there was a problem with their cooling system. She told us that the AC had failed earlier that day and their HVAC company had been on the scene to repair the central cooling unit. It seemed to have been fixed, but only a few hours later it became apparent that the air conditioning was still not working properly. We spent the whole event sweating through our dresses and fanning ourselves to no avail, all thanks to an incompetent HVAC technician.
