I had to take my boyfriend in

Sometimes I wonder if I’m completely insane. There’s just something about other humans that will drive me to my breaking point. I will sacrifice anything for somebody that I love. That’s why, when my boyfriend was suddenly having unexpected health issues I was right at his side, ready to follow him to every doctor’s appointment and diagnostic test. Admittedly, it is a lot to ask of anybody, but I was ready to volunteer. For several weeks, I’ve been escorting him all over the city for his various meetings with health professionals. Recently, we attended an MRI scan together which wound up being the most miserable of all the doctor’s appointments so far. To be fair, the appointment wasn’t far away. We jumped in the car, and by the time the air conditioning system was cool, we had arrived at the healthcare center. However, when we got inside the waiting room, the air conditioning system was turned much higher than I could ever tolerate. They must have had the thermostat turned down to about 55 degrees. It felt like they had a commercial cooling system blowing refrigerated air into the waiting room from every air vent. Rather than sitting in a doctor’s office, it was more like sitting in a walk-in freezer. Of course, my boyfriend’s appointment got delayed and we waited for a very long time in the frigid air conditioning. Even after they brought him back for the scan, I sat in my seat shivering under the massive overhead air vents and dreaming of a warm, hot desert getaway. By the time we left the doctor’s office, I was thrilled to sit in the burning hot car. My boyfriend never even thanked me for taking him.
