My partner & I don’t share a room. That consistently shocks people & they guess my friend and I are about to chop up. The truth is that the two of us don’t sleep well together. She snores & I am a light sleeper. She gets up early & I stay up late. I like to read in bed & she wants to watch TV. The worst is that she loves to blast the air conditioner & I want the boiler on. It made sense to get two rooms & sleep separately. I have a legitimately sparse room, just a bed, dresser, & desk. I then stay up late learning, sauntering around & can sleep in. The best is running the heating function from my heat pump. My partner is a pack mouse & can barely close her door. She watches TV & then gets up at 5 am. She has the AC blasting & the overhead fan on. My pal and I can have separate HVAC zones due to owning a heat pump. That is the best feature in my opinion. Having customized heating & cooling settings just keeps the peace. My partner has AC & I have heating & nobody is affected. I can blast the AC when I cook in the family room, however my partner gets the boiler in the living room, and unused rooms aren’t getting HVAC & upping our bill. The system lives longer & produces lower energy bills as a result. There are other benefits to owning a heat pump system, however for me, zone control will consistently be the most attractive factor. Nobody has a set temperature they can agree on, zone control makes sense.
